Origins

Chixlore has long passed down through the years that the original Warrior Hens, known to history as the “Sublime Nine” chicken flock and the “Shaolin Wing” quail covey, were all descendants of birds in space. The true recorded account of events are still classified, but it is believed is that between the early 1950s and the mid-1990s, two competing global super powers were racing to be the first and the best at everything, including reaching outer space. Both were conducting research on how to sustain human life outside the confines of earth, and over that 35-year timeframe, sent countless chickens, quail, and other fowl into space.

As legend would have it, both countries launched exploratory missions on the same day. During their flights, both spacecraft were caught in an unexpected meteor shower as they raced to transit the dark side of the moon. That wasn’t the worst of it; it is believed that the entire mission took place during one of the worst solar storms of the century…

After returning to earth, at first glance, other than a few dents to the spacecraft and bruises of the crew, nothing seemed to be amiss, but that was far from the truth. Legend states that the crews of both spacecraft, including the chickens and quail, underwent several mutations. Very little is known beyond these few details, but what has been said over the years is that the bird passengers developed superior intellect and cosmic powers. The full range of these powers is still being discovered by the birds themselves, a fact unknown to but a few humans (now including you).

What ultimately happened to the crews of these missions? Why and how did the Warrior Hens all assemble in Laytonsville, Maryland? We aim to explore the mystery and share it with you!
